Spiders Love Rich Content!

 

 

It’s all too easy to inadvertently create “stealth” pages; web pages that are virtually invisible to search engines.

The banner “Search Engine Optimisation” at the top of this page is a simple example. YOU can read it, but a search engine spider can’t. That’s because it’s actually a graphic file as opposed to a three-word HTML text string . But this isn’t a problem as long as you’ve built alternative hooks into the page.

Similarly, important content could be hiding in frames or image maps - for example. Or pages could be widowed or orphaned by lack of relevant hyperlinks between the various pages.

The subject CAN be made to sound extremely complex, and the many international SEMO (Search Engine Marketing and Optimisation) conferences throughout the year are devoted to ensuring that it stays that way.
